“To BE or Not To BE” The Role of Identity in ESL Classrooms FILLING
Limited Capacity filling up

Why do learners not improve their proficiency even when they spend hours studying? Who students are might determine their success in becoming proficient language users. In this presentation participants will explore an aspect of language learning that is usually denied: identity and its implications for teaching. By reflecting upon identity participants will be able to list implications for teaching and will experience activities they can do to help students become aware of the role that their identities play in the language learning process.
